Loaded Dervish Loaded Dervish Complete Longboard
The very best all around longboard out there! If you only get one board in your life, make sure to get the Dervish. The Loaded Dervish offers a smooth and comfortable ride for the beginners, but don't let that fool you, it will handle anything that an expert longboarder can throw at it.
With a lower center of gravity and a torsionally stiff design, the Dervishes are built to hold an edge and maximize energy return. A drop-thru carver designed to work with most reverse kingpin geometry trucks and 70mm+ wheels. The dropthru design allows for easier pushing, more stability at speed, and easier sliding.
The Dervish also has a small nose and tail that allows you to bust out manuals, nose manuals, shovits and do all sorts of madness. Plenty of room to cross-step and dance to make the ladies or men swoon. This board is super easy to slide out because it is low to the ground and is very comfortable under your feet when going fast.
Black Diamond Sports Recommends the following components:
Paris 180mm Trucks
3DM Avila Wheels
Bones Super Swiss Bearings
SPECS:
Length: 41.5" / 105cm
Width: 8.5" / 21.5cm
Wheelbase: 33" / 84cm
Weight: Complete: 7.6 - 7.8lbs / 3.4 - 3.5kg
CONSTRUCTION: Epoxy and Tri-axle fiberglass sandwich a vert-lam Bamboo core, pressed into concave and convex cambers for liveliness, responsiveness and high energy potential. DropThru cutouts are CNC milled for precision.
FLEX: The Dervish is available in two flexes:
FLEX1: 170-230+lbs / 77-105+kg
FLEX2: 100-185+lbs / 45-85+kg
Remember that a softer flex pattern will give you more control and tighter turns at a wide range of speeds, but tend to lose stability slightly at higher speeds. Stiffer flex means more energy potential and more stability at higher speeds, but will not be as forgiving and lively when cruising.
SETUP:
Trucks: Designed with the drop-thru to accommodate the Randal R-II, Paris, Bear, Gullwing Charger and Tracker Fastrack Longboard Trucks. All reverse-kingpin trucks work well on this board, but we recommend using at least a 180mm wide truck.
Wheels: Be sure to find a wheel appropriate for your riding style and desired speed. This board is designed for a 70mm+ wheel. Current top recommendations for this board are the 75mm Orangatang In Heats or 70mm Orangatang 4President, but don’t be afraid to explore other options.
Bearings: There are many great bearings and we recommend the Bones Super Swiss and Bones Swiss Bearings.
Additional Set-up: Play around with kingpin tightness to adjust the looseness of the trucks. There are a lot of new bushings coming to market and they can make a huge difference in the ride. Go out and experiment.
Riding Tips: The board is designed for a centered, snowboard style stance. Learn to footbrake and slide. These are the safest ways to slow down at speed and they will allow you to increase your skills immensely as well as keep you safe on the hills. The dropthru design allows for more lateral pressure on the wheels. A lower stance will provide more control for stand up slides.
GRAPHIC: Inspired by ancient Persian Islamic art, we've named this board the "Dervish" as a reference to the Whirling Dervishes. A sub-sect of Sufism (Mystical Islam), the Dervishes are famous for their ritual whirling dances, an aerobic flowing movement designed to produce spiritual ecstasy.
This is the second Dervish graphic of the series and mantains the mystical vibe of the first graphic. Graphic by Pablo and Diana of Nana Studio.
