What Is The Best Board For You? A Longboard or A Skateboard?

What is the difference?

Longboard: A lengthy piece of wood and wheels consisting of a deck (the wood part), trucks (the turning mechanism), wheels (the round things), and bearings (small metal pieces inside the wheels to make them spin on the trucks). These pieces of wood known as a board is primarily used for riding and brining smiles to the faces of all of their users. Other uses include commuting, cruising, sliding, and downhill.

Skateboard: A smaller piece of wood and wheels consisting of a deck (the wood part), trucks (the turning mechanism), wheels (the round things), and bearings (small metal pieces inside the wheels to make them spin on the trucks). These smaller pieces of wood curve upwards on both ends. Those ends are refereed to as kick tails. With these kick tails you can pop the skateboard into the air to do a number of maneuvers. Skateboards are generally used for tricks of all sorts and generally looking cool for your peers. Other uses include pool riding/park riding and street riding.

Below shows some types of Longboard Decks and their style of ride.

Bear Trucks: Bear Trucks are a premium truck, they are great all around trucks ideal for any style of riding.

Kryptonic Classic 70mm 80A Wheels: These wheels are standard sized and relatively soft wheels which is a great place to start for any new skater. Kryptonics are the old tried and true!

Mini Logo Bearings: These bearings are very simple and fine to start out with. They are not too terribly fast but that helps for the beginner longboard rider.
