Kids Rollerblade Inline Skates
One of the biggest problems facing the youth of the United States is childhood obesity, brought on by a sedentary lifestyle thanks to electronic devices such as smartphones and gaming consoles. If you're looking for a fun sport to get your kids out of the house and onto the streets, inline skating is the perfect solution. Though inline skating reached its height of popularity in the '90s, it remains popular among children today, not to mention safer than most other sports!
It's easy to quickly feel overwhelmed when choosing your child's first pair of inline skates. With an array of different styles and colors to choose from, it's easy to select a pair of skates that isn't a good fit for your child. Most inline skates for children fall into one of two categories: recreational or aggressive. As their names imply, recreational skates are perfect for beginners while aggressive skates are for kids who already know how to skate.
After choosing a style, the next thing you'll want to look at is the closure type. There are primarily two categories of closure types: speed laces and traditional. For kids who have difficulty tying their shoes, the speed lace system lets you quickly put on or take off a pair of skates without needing to tie anything. Older children will prefer the traditional lace system, which is similar to the laces found on an everyday shoe.
Even more important than the style and closure type is the adjustability of the inline skates. As any parent knows, kids grow fast; what they comfortably fit into even six months ago is likely already too small. As inline skates are an expensive purchase, you don't want to run the risk of your child outgrowing them in a short amount of time. Look for a pair of inline skates that are adjustable at least three to four shoe sizes higher than the default setting, which will ensure they can use them for years to come. Also, purchase a pair of inline skates at least one size higher than your child's shoe size to account for the first growth spurt.
